FWAA-NFF SUPER 16 POLL – Week 8

|-Alabama maintained its firm grip on the No. 1 ranking, claiming all but one first place vote, which went to Michigan, now ranked No. 2.
-A couple upsets, including former No. 2 Ohio State falling on the road to unranked Penn State and SMU upsetting No. 11 Houston at home, shook up the poll this week. Ohio State dropped four spots to No. 6, and Houston now finds itself no longer in the poll.
-Clemson, Washington and Louisville, respectively, round out the top five. Unbeatens Baylor (No. 9) and West Virginia (No. 11) represent the Big 12 in the poll, and Boise State (No. 12), at a perfect 7-0, holds the No. 12 ranking as the lone team from the Group of Five conferences in the poll.
-Utah, now 7-1 after its Week 8 victory over UCLA, moves into the poll for the first time this season at No. 15. Auburn (5-2) is also making its first appearance at No. 16. Tennessee, which had a bye week, lost its spot in the poll.
-The Big Ten and SEC lead all leagues with four teams each, but the Big Ten has four among the top 10 teams. The ACC has three. The Big 12 and the Pac-12 each have two, and the Mountain West has one.
