CFB Media Days Schedule
Kickoff is around the corner!
Now that June has passed, the countdown to kickoff is kicking into high gear. Before training camps open up, select players and coaches ascend to their conferences media days to meet the media, answer the same questions over and over and over again, and REALLY hope they don’t say something stupid that ends up being bulletin board material.
We will be there to bring you coverage of the Power 5 Media Days with video recapping the days “action” as well as interviews and local food recaps.
SEC Media Days – July 10th-13th
The SEC kicks off this years festivities, as their media days are spread over four (4!!!) days in Hoover, Alabama. Wikipedia tells us that Hoover is a suburb of Birmingham, and is host of the Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa, the third longest golf course in the world topping out at 8,191 yards. Coincidentally, thats almost the same number of yards surrendered by Ole Miss in 2016.
Almost assuredly we will be consuming BBQ.
ACC Media Days – July 13th & 14th
Charlotte, NC will be the first actual city to host a media day event in 2017, as Atlantic Division schools hit the podiums on Thursday, and Coastal Division schools follow on Friday. We get to see if Dabo Swinney will actually talk to us, or if they feel slighted that there will not be slides for his players to move around on.
We haven’t been to Charlotte in a long time, so any food recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Big 12 Media Days – July 17th & 18th
Dallas will be a buzz on the days following the National Fantasy Football Convention the weekend before Big 12 Media Days kicks off from The Star in Frisco. You cannot tell the coaches without a program, new Big 12 head coaches Tom Herman, Matt Rhule, and Lincoln Riley, will get to arm wrestle to see who gets to score 70 on Texas Tech this fall, and hopefully not lose to Kansas.
Dallas means Mexican food, and we will be fat and happy.
Big Ten Media Days – July 24th & 25th
Chicago plays host to the 14 team media orgy over two days. This is where this years “media darling” will be born, Jim Harbaugh will assuredly wear khakis, and boring white quarterback from the middle of nowhere will get a Heisman push (we are looking at you Iowa).
STRAIGHT GIORDANOS AND OLD STYLE ALL WEEKEND BOYS!
PAC-12 Media Days – July 26th & 27th
Hollywood plays host to PAC-12 Media Days at the Hollywood and Highland Entertainment Center, and it’s fitting, because the stars will be out in force in Los Angeles. UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen and USC signal caller Sam Darnold, and two other quarterbacks pegged by Three Point Stance Magazine Scouting Director Justin Day as four of the top 5 QB’s available in the 2018 draft will be in attendance.
When in LA, its gotta be sushi or fish tacos, just make sure it’s not from a former actor or musician turned restaurateur’s spot.
