AFFL’s US Open of Football Tournament Kicks Off

Final 12 Teams Compete for Chance at $1 Million Cash Prize

Following four rounds of amateur team play taking 128 squads down to eight, the American Flag Football League’s (AFFL) U.S. Open of Football Tournament makes its television debut on NFL Network with live coverage of the final 11 games beginning Saturday, June 30 at 7:00 PM ET.

The NFL and AFFL announced its broadcast partnership in February, bringing competitive flag football to a television audience. NFL Network will air the USOF playoffs live June 30 through July 19, concluding with the Ultimate Final where the America’s Champion and Pros’ Champion will meet in a winner take-all contest for $1 million.

The 12 teams featured as part of NFL Network’s telecast schedule include the top eight amateur squads advancing from the America’s Bracket, plus four teams making up the Pro Championship Bracket, captained by former NFL, NBA and Olympic standouts including Michael Vick (Roadrunners), Chad Ochocinco (Ocho), Nate Robinson (Holdat), Carlos Boozer (Holdat) and Michael Johnson (Godspeed).

Week one of NFL Network’s live AFFL broadcast schedule kicks off with the “America’s Bracket” Quarterfinal June 30 – July 1 from Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA, and will feature the following amateur matchups:

Saturday, June 30 – 7:00 PM ET
Game 1: Dallas Ducks vs. Primetime

Game 2: Fighting Cancer vs. Strong Island Bulldogs

Sunday, July 1 – 4:00 PM ET
Game 1: Mean Machine vs. Code Red

Game 2: Church’s Money vs. Money Team

The four amateur teams to advance will move on to the Semifinals July 7 – 8 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Atlanta where NFL Network’s live coverage each night at 7:00 PM ET will kick off with amateur team action, followed by the Pro Championship Bracket matchups:

Saturday, July 7 – 7:00 PM ET
Game 1: Amateur semifinal – Teams TBD

Game 2: Pro Championship Bracket – Roadrunners vs. Ocho

Sunday, July 8 – 7:00 PM ET
Game 1: Amateur semifinal – Teams TBD

Game 2: Pro Championship Bracket – Godspeed vs. Holdat

Week 3 of tournament action Saturday, July 14 at 4:00 PM ET will decide the America’s Bracket Champion and Pro Bracket Champion who will battle for the $1 million cash prize in the Ultimate Final Thursday, July 19 at 8:00 PM ET from BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
