Super 16 Poll: Week 5

Buckeyes move up, while Stanford takes a tumble

Notes:

Alabama held firm at No. 1 with 814 points and 49 first-place votes — the exact same totals of a week ago. Georgia was No. 2 with one first-place vote. With its road victory at Penn State, Ohio State moved into the third spot and Clemson, which narrowly beat Syracuse, fell to No. 4. LSU, with the other first-place vote, held at No. 5, along with Oklahoma at No. 6.

Notre Dame, after beatingĀ  Stanford, moved up two spots to No. 7, while Stanford slid from No. 7 to No. 13. Despite the loss to the Buckeyes, Penn State remained at No. 8. There was no movement out of the poll with all 16 of the same teams ranked last week remaining in the poll again.

The SEC led all conferences with five teams. The Big Ten had four, and the Big 12 and Pac-12 had two each. The American, ACC and Independents each had one.
