Super 16 Poll: Week 8
Buckeyes drop out of the top 5
Alabama remained atop the poll after a convincing road victory at Tennessee. But No. 2 Ohio State slid all the way to No. 9 after suffering its first loss of the season at Purdue. Every other team, Nos. 3-9, moved up a slot, staring with Clemson, now No. 2.
The Tigers are followed by Notre Dame, LSU, Michigan, Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma and then Ohio State. Florida and UCF switched places at Nos. 10-11. Oregon and North Carolina State fell out of the poll after losses. Washington State and Texas A&M each moved into the poll for the first time this year.
The SEC led all conferences with six teams. The Big 12 had three. The Big Ten and Pac-12 had two each. The American, ACC and Independents had one each.
