3 Teams That Could Crash the CFP

Who could ruin the party?

Alabama versus Clemson seems like a lock for the final of the College Football Playoff ever since its inception, but let’s take a look at three teams who could crash the party this season.

  1. LSU Tigers (6)

Call me a homer but these LSU Tigers feel a little different.

They return great players like Grant Delpit, K’lavon Chaisson, Justin Jefferson, Kristian Fulton, Joe Burrow, etc. For the first time in a long time, LSU has a true proven playmaker at the QB position. Pair that with the always strong defense, new running back John Emery Jr, and a new spread out no huddle offense. If they can get over the Alabama mountain. This team could win it all.

  1. Texas Longhorns (10)

To think in week two LSU will play Texas seems unfair. One team could ultimately have their postseason chances crushed so early in the season, but one will be catapulted towards their dreams.

It very well could be Texas.

Tom Herman and Sam Ehlinger are one of, if not the very best, QB/head coach duos in all of college football. They will score points, if their defense can hold it’s own, this Texas team could be very dangerous.

  1. Iowa State Cyclones (21)

I had to go out on a limb with one of these picks and why not the Iowa State Cyclones?

When talking best QB/head coach duos in college football, that list must include Matt Campbell and Brock Purdy. I expect Purdy to make a massive leap in his sophomore season and Matt Campbell is one of the best young coaches in all of football. This is another team that will score in bunches. If their defense could do its job, at a minimum, Iowa State will be one of the more fun teams to watch in the country.
