An Uneducated Take: Title Game Weekend

Two BIG games.

And here we are.  4 teams remaining.  Not exactly how I envisioned it, but the matchups could be fun.  Well, one of them could be fun.  I went 2-2 last week which brings the overall to 49-41.

Texans-Chiefs
How does Bill O’Brien still have a job after that game?  Why are the Texans not ushering him out a back door and making plans to interview Eric Bieniemy? It’s inexcusable to give up that kind of lead.  I don’t care if it is Patrick Mahomes on the other side of the field.  You don’t surrender that kind of lead.
There’s not much else to say about this game.  Mahomes played amazing in the 2nd quarter and rode that momentum into 7 touchdown drives in a row.  That’s phenomenal, but kinda easy to do against a team that had their heart ripped from them.
Niners-Vikings
It’s been said all week, but I will parrot it, the 49ers pass rush has returned and power running game was on full display.  They looked solid on almost all fronts (except for one Garappolo pick).
Packers-Seahawks
Yes, Green Bay won the game.  Was I impressed with them?  Absolutely not.  They beat a Seattle team that was heavily injured and thin all over.  And they damn near got beat after leading 21-3 at the half.
Titans-Ravens
Shocker of the year, but should it be?  Derrick Henry got rolling and piled up the yards, but this wasn’t just a case of Tennessee just being dominant on the run.  This was a whole lot of Baltimore shooting themselves in the foot. Interception on the first drive that gave Tennessee 1st Down at the Ravens 35.  Turnover on downs on the next drive that set Tennessee up at the Ravens 45.  The Titans scored 4 touchdowns in this game and on only one of those drives, did they start from within their own territory.  This was hands down Baltimore losing this game.
Now, I’m glad I haven’t heard much of people piling on Lamar Jackson after a very bad playoff performance.  It was a bad game.  He’s a young guy and can bounce back. Not the end of the world.
AFC Championship Game
This should be an insanely fun game.  It’s all going to come down to if Tennessee can get stops.  If they can get stops, they will be in this through the end.  If Tennessee is leading or within one score with the ball in the 4th quarter, part of me wants to give the edge to the Titans at that point, but I just don’t see it happening.  I feel the Chiefs come out and win this one after a valiant effort by Tennessee to come back. I’m taking the Chiefs -7.
NFC Championship Game
Maybe I should put more stock into the Packers getting to the NFC title game, but I really don’t.  San Francisco should be able to win this one fairly easy by getting to Rodgers all day.   I like the Niners -7.5.
